What women find attractive varies depending on her personality and taste which is good news for you, because generally speaking there really is someone for everyone. Rather than try and become something or someone you are not, by enhancing your best and also unique qualities you can become the most attractive version of you. This gives a rest in who you are which communicates outwardly as confidence which is extremely attractive to women.

Now while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is no denying many people could make some big improvements on the image they present to the world, and on their personality flaws. Yes, we all have our flaws, but in the dating scene apathy and laziness will leave you sidelined, lonely and single. After you make the effort in a few areas it will become second nature and in any case, this is the kind of attitude you need for a successful long term relationship.

Looks are just the drawing card, but you need to have depth of character and a great personality to be able to establish a longer term connection.

Now, dress sense matters to a woman. If you really don’t have a clue,  show her you are open for her input and guiding hand in this area, as women find that very attractive. You can never go wrong with a modern trendy look. If you need help ask. Take some girlfriends shopping (platonic friends), or ask your girlfriend to accompany you and ask what she likes to see you dressed in. A lot of women have great taste for clothing. Keep in mind never take your mother shopping for clothes. It is hugely unattractive to a woman to find out your mom buys your clothes. A woman wants to see you are a man and not a mommy’s boy and would also like to think she has some influence over you clothing choices.

Displaying different sides of yourself adds mystery for a woman and increases your attractiveness to her. Let her see you indifferent settings, formal, family gatherings, sports events, work socials and change up your clothing style for each event. Khakis and a t-shirt gets old really fast. Why not take her on a fancy dinner date dressed in a suit and a tie? All women find a man in a suit attractive! It is also paying her a compliment that you made the effort.

Hygiene also plays an essential part in what women find attractive in men. It is non-negotiable. Shower at least daily, and shampoo and condition your hair every day or at least every second day. I know when I first read this I was shocked not only at all the success that Lincoln had achieved but by the amount of adversity that he overcame throughout his life.

I always enjoy reading biographies and accounts of people throughout history who have achieved greatness.  There is much to learn from them and Lincoln is no different.  His perseverance is a testament that if you have belief in yourself, never give up and work hard you will be successful and accomplish your dreams!

Sir Winston Churchill famously said, “When you are going through hell, keep going”

What this means is to persevere, to never give up, to continue going until the job is done (whatever dream or goal you have).

When I am reading anything I am consciously making an effort to see if there is any lesson that I can impart from it.

What really jumped out at me from these pages was the idea of PERSEVERANCE.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, PERSEVERANCE?

PER. SE. VER. ANCE – Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement.

Perseverance is a constant theme among those who have achieved success, and especially among those who have achieved great success.  It’s that stick-to-itiveness; not quitting when the road gets tough that ultimately makes the biggest difference in their lives.

I want to make one thing clear, perseverance does not mean trying the same approach every time until you get the desired outcome. What it means is keeping the desired outcome in mind and changing the approach until you achieve your outcome.

The difference here is that, perseverance is also about being able to adapt around obstacles to achieve your outcome.  And this is a huge point to understand.

Below is a video which I came across a while back but really sums up what I have been talking about in this article.  The Rocky story really embodies perseverance, tenacity, and having belief in your dream and seeing it through to is achievement.

This is a quick post to share with you one characteristic that all leaders possess. That is the ability to make others feel good and bring out the best in others.

I was having an interesting conversation with The Godfather the other day and we were talking about putting other people down. All high value people with self confidence don’t ever feel the need to put someone else down. The act of putting someone else down stems from a lack of inner self confidence. The people who criticize others the most are always the ones who are least happy and don’t like themselves.

Think about it, the only reason people talk badly, put down, or criticize others is to boost their own ego due to a lack of self confidence. The sign of a “little” person is one who always feels the need to put others down in order to feel good.

The lesson to learn is to help others achieve their goals and to bring out the best in them. No one wants to be around someone who plays childish games and is full of negative energy!

Action Plan: Be as positive as you can around other people and bring out the best in them. You will thank me later I promise

I had a really interesting conversation the other day about talent, hard work, persistence and self belief. I want to share with you what I learned from this conversation and the paradigm that resulted.

Whatever your dream is, whatever you want to be or do, YOU CAN DO AND ACHIEVE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO.  It is so important to first have belief in your self and your abilities.

It is also critical to understand that TALENT is not special, and it certainly does not guarantee success.  There are so many talented people that it would be ignorant to see your self as special or better because of it.

The difference between the talented and the successful is hard work, persistence, determination, opportunity and belief.

The road to success is paved by hard work.  When you think of talent as special it gives you a false sense of security, thinking that you can rest on your laurels. You must understand that talent is common but hard work, real hard work, dedicating your self to your dream and working at it every day is not common.  That in its self will make the most difference.  Really committing your self to your dream and putting in that hard work to get there.  Hard work crushes talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

Persistence and determination are crucial; everyone faces adversity however it is not how many times you fall down but how many times you get back up that really counts.  If you are truly committed to your dream then nothing will stop you, if you face a road block you will find another way around to get to your ultimate destination.  This is so important, many times people give up as soon as it gets tough, but those that fight through adversity and keep fighting until they realize their dreams will achieve success.

Many people classify it as luck, but I believe that it is opportunity.  Opportunity comes to everyone but you must be prepared for it and act on it otherwise it will pass you by.  Opportunity waits for no man, but it is very kind to those who grab it with both hands and make use of it.  An excuse many people have is that they were unlucky or the successful people caught a lucky break which is the only reason why the successful got there and they did not.  Again it would be ignorant to believe this, Gary Player one of the greatest golfers famously said “the harder I work the luckier I get.”  This is because the harder you work the better prepared you become when opportunity knocks. Understand that opportunity is everywhere around us however, it is the prepared who grab it.

Belief, you have heard myself and bigP talking about belief a lot in our articles.  Having confidence in your self and your abilities is so important because success starts from within.  Before you can be successful externally, you must have belief and confidence in yourself.  Have the unwavering belief that you can and will achieve your goals.  That is the belief I am talking about, not I think I can do it, but I CAN AND WILL DO IT!

When I thought about the conversation I had, it was a huge realization that talent is never enough.  If you are serious and committed about your dreams then you MUST: WORK HARD, BE PERSISTENT, BE PREPARED FOR OPPORTUNITY AND HAVE UNWAVERING BELIEF IN YOUR SELF!

And it is never a sometimes thing, but an all the time thing!  You must be dedicating yourself to your dream all the time, every day if you want to be the best at anything.
